Society has changed...get over it....

In a way, I understand where this meme. Sometimes I wonder how the sweet, delicate, overprivledged, newly made "adults" will survive. Then again, in 1944 people were also encouraged to give up their mentally and/or physically disabled children to "hospitals" that would neglect and abuse them, and this was "for their own good". Society has changed because we have figured out that certain things are immoral and cause lifelong scars. So yes there are less 18 years going to serve in the millitary but we also have less young people coming home with PTSD and hurting either themselves or their families because they are untreated. So I find this meme a little on the ingorant side.

"Society has changed because we have figured out that certain things are immoral and cause lifelong scars." Yes!

Memes like this appeal to selfish people who have no empathy or manners. They believe that it gives them grounds to behave any way they please and hurt anyone with impunity.

Some of those brave 18 year old kids 'way back in 1944 had to face prejudice and abuse that they never forgot. Some of them mentioned it years later, when it was safer to speak. Some of them never did, but it was always with them.

How did it feel to be called a "nigger" by your fellow soldiers and not be able to speak up and defend yourself? How did it feel to be called a "nip" by your companions, even though you were fighting for the very country that put your family in a concentration camp?

Do the people who make hateful memes like this truly believe that the best thing for young people is to send them to fight wars?
